DONATION UPDATE:  23% achieved

TOTAL DONATIONS:  $23,250 (click here to see donation page)

TARGET GOAL: $100,000

D-Day 6/15/17 (Patrol steps off on the PCT)

As of this report Operation Awakening II – The Long Patrol, has achieved 21% of our target goal. 100% of these contributions goes directly to The Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund (501c3). I DO NOT SEE A DIME.  The current total was achieved by good old fashion grass-roots fund-raising. Its has been 10 months since OPA II has kicked off operations and we stand proudly at 23% of OUR goal.  I do emphasize the word OUR. Because with out all of you I would not be at the current balance WE have achieved.  OUTSTANDING!!!

LAST 30 DAYS – SLOW PROGRESS

The month of April has been slow and painful in terms of fund raising.  I want to thank all of those who have stepped up to the donate plate to get us from 21% to 23%.  But we have only moved the needle 2%.  I’m not sure of the reason for the slow down but we still have Marines, Sailors, Airmen, Soldiers who need help paying bills, getting from one location to another, waiting for adaptive services, help adjusting to their injuries they received DEFENDING OUR FREEDOMS!!!

I know that our wounded coming home is not the latest Twitter buzz or Facebook rant, but we cannot let our support wane. I know first hand there are Marines and Sailors down range serving in “hot areas”. Their support for our country, our freedom’s, our way of life will never fade.  These men and women do not need buzz words or hot topics to get motivated to keep the wolf at bay.  Instead they fight for us unconditionally.  Soooo for those who have not donated and still say they support but do nothing…  Here is your opportunity.  So take the yellow ribbon off your bumper and pony up a few dollars to REALLY show SUPPORT our service members.  Sorry to be so cross in this update but I am not happy with where our current total as of this update.

CORPSMAN LEVEL DONATIONS ($500 above)

navy_corpsman_sticker

I list these contributions under the “Corpsman Donation” level. The Corpsman donation is the highest contribution recognized by Operation Awakening. The reason for calling it the “Corpsman” donation is that a Corpsman on a patrol is the number one lifesaving element in an operation. Without a Navy Corpsman on a patrol some marines would never have made it home. The Corpsman is the tip of the spear when it comes to recovery.  He is the one who ensures the marine gets the attention needed for dust off to continue the life saving process. Bottom line, The Corpsman is the bravest brother of the battlefield. The level of sacrifice that the Corpsman make to keep brothers alive once the call is screamed out, is as if god himself sent that man to save that downed brother.

So using that same mindset the following people have become the Operation Awakening Corpsman contributors – with your donations you have breathed life into my Operation.

  • Trea Vickers donated $500.00 – This was a big donation for OPA II.  I put out the call for more donations and Trea followed up with a Corpsmen level donation.  Semper Fi Trea.

FIRE TEAM DONATIONS (Below $500.00)

U.S. Marine Corps Sgt. Ryan Pettit (left) and Cpl. Matthew Miller with 2nd Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment in the Helmand Province of Afghanistan on July 3, 2009.

Operation Awakening lists the “Fire Team” donation as a contribution between 1 and 500 dollars. The United States Marine Corps considers the Fire Team the most lethal weapon in the US arsenal. A great marine once said, “the fire team is the most deadly weapon in the US Marine Corps. But more important than its lethality is the fire teams reliability”. What the General was referring too is that all the other weapon platforms can fail, but the US Marine Rife Team will always be there. ALWAYS THERE..

The Fire Team donation’s that our operation has received are the core assets that keep this operation moving forward. It’s the anonymous $10.00 donation every week or every other week that helps. Or the donation from returning contributors that let in the light of hope toward my goal. No matter what the donation level please keep coming. I thank the following people for their Fire Team donation.

  • Victoria L Young (Young Family) donated $250.00
  • Anonymous – $10.00 has been donated
  • Scott Morgan donated $25.00
  • Michael LoGiudice donated $10.00
  • Wade Prince donated $321.00
  • Anonymous – donated $50.00
  • Charles Shahan donated $54.00 – 23% achieved
  • Stephen Tuomey donated $250.00
  • Anonymous – $10.00 has been donated
  • Mark Tacea donated $100.00 – Total monthly donations $600.00!

Update #1  •   Posted 683 day(s) ago

Operation Awakening has been a live operation since 6/25/16 and we are at 2,225.00 of our $1,000.00 goal. Thank you to all who have stepped up early. We have a long way to go and fund raising as a single promoter is a very large task. So with that said,if those who read this update can spread the word and drive my donations within your own communities it will make a huge difference. Thank you again and Semper Fi Tim
