About J.A. Harris:

Harris was born in Germany and six months later began traveling around the world. He grew up as an "Army brat" until he moved to Mount Dora, Florida where he joined the United States Marine Corps. His first duty station was in Okinawa, Japan and from there he went to Camp Pendleton and was assigned to the Air Naval Gunfire Liaison Company. While serving in ANGLICO he attended Army Airborne training and accurred seventeen jumps. After being discharged from the Corps he joined the United States Army where he went from being a Forward Scout Observer for artillery and naval gunfire as a Marine to being a Motor Transport Operator in the Army. He spent his entire tour working with and delivering U.S. mail to military bases throughout Germany and Belgium. He was also one of eight soldiers chosen to represent the United States at an international NATO forklift driving competition in Hungary.

Once he was honorably discharged from the military he moved to Florida and began traveling around the United States until he found himself living in Montana and married to the woman who inspired him to change his life. He's the author of the children’s adventure novel: Kingdom of Helena, and also a member of the American Legion. Harris is ready to begin raising money for those in need by doing a solo thru-hike of the entire length of the 2,180 mile long Appalachian Trail. Please help him help our service members by making a donation. Thank you for your support.

"I came from a military family; my father was a retired Air Force flight engineer and flew many mission during WWII & Korean War. Two of my brothers were in the army, one of which flew helicopter gunships in Vietnam, he became an Instructor pilot later went into recruitment. He retired as a Colonel after 30 years. My only other brother was in the Navy on nuclear submarines during Vietnam. I was the only member of my family that did not go into the service. I did however become a Flight Attendant and volunteered to fly CRAF missions transporting soldiers on our Commercial airline into Kuwait during Operation Iraqi Freedom. I want to thank you Dru and all our military soldiers for their service & you especially for helping the injured soldiers with the Appalachian Trail Fundraiser to benefit the Semper Fi Fund. I only wish I could give more!"
$30.00 has been donated in memory of Harold W. Stephens, Jr. & Harold W. Stephens, III

Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund

The Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit set up to provide immediate financial support for injured and critically ill members of the U.S. Armed Forces and their families. We direct urgently needed resources to post 9-11 Marines and Sailors, as well as members of the Army, Air Force or Coast Guard who serve in support of Marine forces. The Semper Fi Fund (SFF) provides relief for financial needs that arise during hospitalization and recovery as well as assistance for those with perpetuating needs.
