24 July 2013

Friends, Family & Colleagues,

I wanted to take the time today to thank you for all of your support and encouragement over the past year as I trained and prepared for this event. On Sunday 28 July shortly after 0630 I will cross the starting line as I enter the water on the first stage of the Ironman triathlon in Lake Placid.  While I will be focused on the task at hand of swimming, biking and running a total of 140.6 miles this day, there will be times where muscle-memory takes over and the mind is free to give thanks for the opportunity, recall words of encouragement and celebrate personal connections.

Ironman training occupies a significant portion of time and resources and it would be selfish to consider that only I have made sacrifices.  Everyone receiving this email has made a sacrifice or offered something of themselves in one way or another for me to be able to accomplish this task - Thank you.  "As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another." Proverbs 27:17

You can track me on Sunday at the Ironman website. Go to:

www.ironman.com

·         Select events/results

·         Select Ironman from the drop down

·         Select ironman Lake Placid

·         Select results and you can put in my last name Mcbride or my BIB 2392

In addition, I wanted to share with you causes that my team and I are sponsoring so that our racing efforts are for a greater good and benefit others in the community.  I would ask that if you are able and willing to help to please click one of the links below and make a donation.
